ABOUT
Bri is a fiction writer, typing and living in Kansas City, Missouri with her husband and her dog.

She loves writing and reading stories that blend contemporary literary, horror, and magical realism. Granted, she firmly believes that if we feel like we fell into a hole while spending time with a story, it's important that a ladder is provided to help us climb out with new knowledge at the end. Bri promises, as a writer, never to leave folks feeling like they are stuck in holes, but instead, resurfaced with a new experience and fullness.

Some of her favorite classic books are Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Geek Love by Katherine Dunn, and Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
-
More recent books that she loves include Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark, The Bombshell by Darrow Farr, and Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang.
When Bri is not writing, she's a licensed therapist with a private practice based in New York City (working with NYers will always be a passion of hers after living there for several years) and specializes in working with trauma, depression, and anger management. She uses her therapy background to examine the most beautiful and terrifying parts of humans and incorporates these aspects into her stories. As a mixed-race woman that grew up in a financially insecure household, all her stories aim to add insight into experiences of poor and minority groups and help those who don’t always have a voice feel heard and seen.

Her free time often consists of wildly dancing at concerts, making bowls at a local pottery studio, playing boardgames, and spoiling Wilt, her 10-pound Toy Poodle.
